Zemanta enhances blog posts during the editing process

The Semantic Technology Conference in San Francisco last week showed how the invasion of the Web by semantic tech CANNOT be stopped.
Attendance was up. Infrastructure is sound and getting better. Many big companies were there shopping: check the list of attendees.

This post was enhanced using the assistance of Zemanta‘s blog editing extension.  I used the Firefox extension:  up and running in five minutes.  The San Francisco markup is a bit “brute force” – providing a map link.  Would a link to a San Francisco promotion site have been better?  The SemTech link was exactly right.  The “Related Articles” was very useful – although the selection could have been thousands, I chose a “promoted link.”  In other words, Pull paid Zemanta some (small?) amount for my having chosen that link.  What a world!

Four Dimensional Text

We’re all familiar with two-dimensional text: flat on the page or screen, maybe-just-maybe with those little bumps that are pieces of hypertext.
Add one dimension that provides the user with information that he wants (Z-Text).
Add another dimension, the text and its Z-text change with time.
